Leadership changes announced at BankChampaign

Community banking veteran L. Dean Clausen is retiring as Chairman and CEO of BankChampaign. Effective June 30 he accepted the position of executive vice president and chairman of the executive committee. He will remain on the board of the bank and retain his position as chairman and CEO of Market Place Bancshares, Inc., as well as chairman and CEO of Market Place Insurance Services (InsureChampaign).
Four longstanding employees of BankChampaign will assume new leadership roles. Linda Richardson, who has been with the bank 23 years, will serve as Chairman and CEO of BankChampaign. John Clausen is being named chief financial officer, assuming Richardson’s previous title and management responsibilities. Clausen joined the bank in 2007. Amie Smith, who has been with BankChampaign since 1998, will become senior vice president in charge of all retail banking. Charlie Osborne, a 12-year employee of BankChampaign, will begin managing the wealth management department. Mark Ballard, who joined the bank in 1991 and has served on the board since 2012, will continue as president.
