Courage Connection welcomes development director

Courage Connection has announced that Michael Ujcich has joined its team as the new development director. In his new position, Ujcich will have the responsibility of donor relations and development of financial sustainability events, along with community marketing outreach. In addition, the Connections retail store located in Lincoln Square will be part of his reporting structure. This store not only provides a retail donation and resale location in the community; it is also a hands-on training site for workforce re-entry programs, along with providing needed clothing and personal care items for clients.
Ujcich was on the Courage Connection board of directors for the past five years. He brings to Courage Connection over 40 years of retail management, special events and visual experience and most recently was the store manager at Bergner’s in Market Place Shopping Center. In addition, he has served in multiple advisory positions for many charitable organizations during his retail career. Ujcich holds a bachelor’s of interior design degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
