OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary, Carle, OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center receive Leapfrog Group Safety Grades
New Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades have been announced by The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organization for patient safety. OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center and Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana achieved an ‘A’, and OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville achieved a ‘B,’ placing them among the safest hospitals in the country.
Developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
