OSF HealthCare announces new chief medical officer in Urbana
OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center has named John Kreckman, M.D., as vice president and chief medical officer.
Kreckman will oversee clinical strategy and goals and will focus on integrating and aligning clinical resources and services across the region to deliver needed care to patients and families.
Kreckman previously served OSF HealthCare from 2011 until 2015 as a PromptCare physician. During that time he also held many other roles with OSF HealthCare, including chairing and serving on many medical staff committees and leading quality initiatives for the Ministry.
Most recently, Kreckman served as director of family medicine hospital services at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and Chief Medical Officer at Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine in Springfield.
He received his Bachelor of Science in physiology from the University of Illinois in Urbana and his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Recently, Kreckman received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
