Courage Connection announces its new chief executive officer
Elizabeth McGreal Cook has been named chief executive officer for Courage Connection, Board of Directors President Tammy Lemke announced recently. Cook assumed her new role as head of Courage Connection on Sept. 1. She succeeded Isak Griffiths, who departed the organization in late 2018.
In her role as chief executive officer, Cook will provide strategic oversight of Courage Connection’s two campuses and the 45-person staff that delivers education, court advocacy, counseling, emergency shelter care and transitional housing to clients. In partnership with the board, she will work to build a culture of philanthropy to engage donors and volunteers.

Her career path led her from hospitality to small business ownership, which brought her back home in 1997 to join her parents in the ownership of Crouse Printing. Following the successful sale of the company, Cook joined the University of Illinois’ Advancement team. She spent more than a decade in advancement at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, including serving as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Advancement Talent Management and Administration. Cook holds a bachelor of science in communication from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She earned a master of arts in teacher leadership from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
